Many verbs in English are made of two words, a verb plus a preposition or adverb of place. These are sometimes called idioms. Some examples:

come / come back

行く、来る/ 帰る、戻る

clean / clean up

清潔にする / 汚れを落す、かたづける

Meanings of the verb and the two-word verb are related but slightly different in meaning. Learn the two-word verbs as separate vocabulary and meaning.
