  音 L47P1J.MP3[737KB]

MARTIN:

What are we looking for, Eileen?

EILEEN:

I want to buy some shoes. What do you need?

MARTIN:

I need a new tape recorder.

EILEEN:

Is your old one broken?

MARTIN:

I dropped it. It plays, but it doesn't record.

EILEEN:

Can it be fixed?

MARTIN:

I don't think so. Let's look for shoes first. Where is the shoe store?

EILEEN:

I don't know. I don't know the shopping mall very well.

MARTIN:

I'll ask someone in this shop. Excuse me. I'm looking for a shoe store.

MALE:

There's one straight ahead. See that green sign? Go there. You can't miss it.

MARTIN:

Thanks. OK. See that green sign?

EILEEN:

Yes.

MARTIN:

The shoe store is near that sign.

EILEEN:

Is it a women's shoe store?

MARTIN:

I don't know. I didn't ask.

EILEEN:

I'm going to ask this woman. Excuse me. I'm looking for a woman's shoe store.

FEMALE:

I'm sorry. I don't know. Ask Information.

EILEEN:

Where is that?

FEMALE:

Go straight ahead. Do you see that large tree? The information counter is under that tree.

EILEEN:

Thank you.

MARTIN:

Let's look for a tape recorder first.

EILEEN:

Where?

MARTIN:

I don't know. I don't know this mall either.

EILEEN:

All right. Let's go to the information counter.

INFO:

May I help you?

MARTIN:

We're looking for a tape recorder. Where is an electronics shop?

EILEEN:

And we're looking for a women's shoe store.

INFO:

OK. First, the shoe store. What kind of shoes are you looking for? Casual or dress?

EILEEN:

Something for work. I work in an office.

INFO:

Try Smith's, Povey's, and Lily's.

EILEEN:

Where are they?

INFO:

Look behind you. You can see Lily's. Can you see the sign?

EILEEN:

Yes, I can.

INFO:

Smith's and Povey's shoe stores are on the left. You can't see them from here. Just walk to the left. Go to the corner. Turn left again. They're just around the corner.

EILEEN:

Good. Thanks.

INFO:

What was the other store?

MARTIN:

An electronics store. I want to buy a tape recorder.

INFO:

Oh, yes. You can try the large department stores.

MARTIN:

I'm a reporter. I want a professional recorder.

INFO:

We have only one electronics store. It's not very big.

MARTIN:

I'll try that. Where is it? Is it near the shoe stores?

INFO:

No, it isn't. Do you know the pet shop?

MARTIN:

No, I don't. We don't know this mall.

INFO:

OK. Turn around. Go past Lily's shoe store. Walk all the way to the end of the mall. It's near the end.

MARTIN:

Thanks.

EILEEN:

Is this the shoe store?

MARTIN:

I don't think so. Those are casual shoes. Running shoes. Sports shoes. Things like that.

EILEEN:

What is the name of this store?

MARTIN:

It says Povey's.

EILEEN:

Let's look for Smith's.

MARTIN:

You shop for shoes. I'm going to look for a tape recorder.

EILEEN:

Can I meet you at the coffee shop?

MARTIN:

Let's meet in forty-five minutes.
